Embarrassing credit card question

I have had a credit card through citibank since I was a teenager. I never even thought about Rewards. I now realize that most people earn points, etc. sooooo, which credit cards give the best rewards. I am also trying to see if I actually do have some kind of rewards that I don't even know about. Please don't judge.Chat Icon

This is the primary card we use. One benefit that we were recently able to benefit from is the travel insurance. Covered about $1,000 worth of expenses when our trip was interrupted.

If you interested in applying send me a message and I can send you a referral link Chat Icon

Do you have a login for your cc? On most of ours rewards balance will be highlighted.

We have a Fidelity credit card and it gives us cash back that is invested into the Funds we choose. It helps build up savings without even trying.

I think it depends what your interests are, which rewards program is best for you. I like American Express because there are a number of different ways to cash in rewards - gift cads, airline or hotel miles, etc. There are no fee amex cards, but some places, especially internationally, don't take amex.

I also now have a target card for all my target purchases because you automatically get 5% off.

We also have a delta card to get companion tickets on airlines and bonus miles but that comes with an annual fee.

I agree, it all depends on your interests and needs and wants.

Right now my Discover gives us money back which I just put towards the card. Target I get 5% back and Ulta gives me reward points so I am able to shop there for things I need.

In the past we had a card that built up points for a cruise. We were able to get OBC with that.

Re: Embarrassing credit card question

I honestly just prefer a card that gives money back- either a check or a statement credit.

We have the Capital One Venture card that is supposed to be good for travel and we use it all the time and even after all these years we barely have enough for a short few days in a hotel. It's annoying. They give you barely anything in points.
You'd have to use it for 20 years or buy 2 cars on it to get enough for a flight LOL

I literally charge everything I can, although now with places charging the surcharge I will rethink some charges. But any kids activities, household items etc, even down to a donut and dunkin donuts goes on the cards. It has definitely helped us to rack up points. Amex rewards are at about 1% so if you spend $5000 you can cash in the rewards for a $50 gift card. If we spend over a certain amount per month we get a 20% point bonus. Might not be fantastic but it's a nice extra!

For the amount I spend at Target annually I wish I had gotten the Target card sooner.

Target is the one I find worthwhile because it's 5% right off at the register.
And I shop at Target multiple times a week so it adds up for sure!

I also have the Target Mastercard so I use it at other places too.

Embarrassing credit card question

I have a BoA card and I just cashed in points for an upcoming trip we had. Granted I haven't done so in a while but I'm getting $750 in a check. I'm not a banker or a money person, but for me, it's money to spend without stress.

We have the venture card- we pay the annual fee because we get more points per dollar (I think 2 per dollar). If you get the free one, it's like 1.25 points for every dollar
