Favorite winter getaway with kids
Where do you recommend within driving distance from LI? We don't ski but maybe tubing could be fun. Ideas?

We aren't outdoor winter sports people so we like doing an indoor waterpark. Kalahari is my favorite.

There is a good place up by Saratoga for tubing. I am not sure of the name of it but that's also not far from Lake George and they have Great Escapes indoor water park.
We like Hope Lake Lodge. They have skiing, tubing, indoor water park (small) and alpine slides.
We did Camelback last year. That has a lot to offer but it was a disorganized s--t show so I don't recommend it. Or at least not on the school breaks.
Lake Placid is supposed to be awesome.

You can go to American Dream Mall in NJ and they have a snow park along with an Amusement Park, water park and more

Re: Favorite winter getaway with kids
Camelback is nice because they have skiing, tubing, the alpine coaster, the indoor waterpark, a small arcade, etc. There's a lot to do.
ETA: I've never gone on a school break, but we've always had a good time. I did like the waterpark at Kartrite better but I think it's because it's newer and had more space for my littles. We all also really enjoyed the indoor/outdoor heated pool. We sat outside in the heated pool at night while there were snow flurries- the kids LOVED it.
