How often do you vacuum?

Daily? Multiple times a day?
A few times a week?

I feel like I could stand there running the vacuum 24/7 and it still wouldn't be enough. Every time I look at the floor there is debris on it.
I have 2 cats, but no dog. And my child isn't a baby anymore either.
I am not sure what is causing so much debris to constantly descend upon my floors!

Re: How often do you vacuum?

Multiple times a day. LOL

Every morning just to get anything from breakfast and I also do the boy's rooms after they leave for school 7AM (they are in middle school) and their bathrooms. Plus my son has allergies so maybe I feel it helps. I like lines in the carpets too.

I will vacuum sporadically if I see crumbs on the floor when I walk around the house when lights hit it at certain times.
After dinner.

Some days more and some less. I work from home so of course waiting on emails or between calls I vacuum. LOL
I have a dog and she doesn't shed.

Maybe I'm insane but when the house is neat I feel good. LOL
Some days I hardly vacuum and days like today I have a lot bc we had a Super Bowl party so that means vacuum, mop, wipe, wash, etc. LOL

Re: How often do you vacuum?

I never vacuum! My housekeepers vacuum the whole house every other week. We don't have carpet anywhere and we have mostly sisal rugs. I sweep a couple times a week. My kids take their shoes off at the door though and we really don't have much of a mess on the floor. I probably should run a vacuum through my kids rooms a couple times a week but I don't even bother.

Same, basically word for word. I do have a dog and a cat who both shed, but we run one of those robot vacuums when we see fur on the hardwood floor.

See I find that since we got rid of all the carpets in our house, I am vacuuming more- because you can totally see every little speck of dust, hair, lint etc. When we had carpets I never saw all this stuff. I shudder to think of what was lurking in my carpeting Chat Icon

I would love to be a shoe free home, as I can see how filthy the areas rugs get from our shoes and that's probably why I see so much crap on the floor- it's probaby being dragged in on our shoes. But DH and DD would never comply with that, I just know it. (Luckily my area rugs are washable (I got Ruggables- best thing ever!)

Once a week here. I should do it more often, but I don't. Edit to say swiffer sweeper works well for cat hair.

I don’t. We don’t have any carpeting except for the stair runner and small area rugs in the living room and DD’s room and those get vacuumed when the cleaning lady comes. We don’t wear shoes in the house and no pets.

I do check the kitchen and dining room floors after cooking/eating to wipe up or dust bust as needed.

Same. I would do it more if it wasn’t such a pain with my dog. I either have to let himself outside which doesn’t work if it is really cold or raining, etc. or put him in the bedroom where I need to do too.

He comes after and bites anything that moves so that includes mops, rags.

I sweep the hardwoods and it seems to be okay. Sometimes I look around and think to myself that I should clean more often but then I get lazy. But overall my house is pretty clean.

Yes I don't have any carpeting anymore either but I see literal tumbleweeds and dust bunnies all over the wood floors like multiple times a day.
It's so frustrating

That’s why I laugh at shows like House Hunters who the buyers all boast about “natural light”. Natural light only shows all the dirt lol

Yes and super dark floors. We went with a lighter shade for the floors because as pretty as the really dark wood floors were they show so much dirt and also show scratches more too.
Just like my black car. Beautiful but ALWAYS filthy!

Re: How often do you vacuum?

We run the roomba daily on our main level which contains kitchen dining room and living room.

I sweep and vacuum the downstairs family room daily as well.

Our upper level has our bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and those I vacuum like 2x a week. We do have carpert.

I have 2 kids 6 & 15, a black lab who sheds so bad and a white bulldog that also sheds although not as bad as the lab. We are also a shoes off household yet the amount of dirt, hair and debris that gets vacuumed/swept daily is crazy.

I put dark flooring in our old house. It was beautiful but I learned my lesson. It showed everything. My floors now are a light hardwood. Too light for my taste but I’m not living that nightmare again.

How often do you vacuum?

Once a week. We don’t have pets and don’t eat or wear shoes in carpeted areas.

I sweep the kitchen a million times a day.

Growing up, my mom would have us vacuum 2-4 times per day. There were 5 kids and a dog.

Lol about "not living that nightmare again". DH literally chose our rescue dog based on the fact that she was the same medium tan color as our floors. Chat Icon

Re: How often do you vacuum?

I vacuum the first floor every other day. Upstairs is 1x per week on my big clean day. I have 2 shedding dogs, a 30lb mix and a 70lb dobie puppy. So it’s a lot to keep up with.

I hate opening my front door and letting sun shine in. All I see is a coating of dust and fur on my wood floors. Drives me nuts.

I use the shark cordless vac (like a dyson) so it’s easy to just run it over the floors real quick before work in the AM
