Remote Careers
I’m sure others have asked this question before so I’m sorry if I sound like a broken record but has anyone successfully left their FT job for a completely different remote job? What careers are out there? Does anyone have a remote position where they are making decent money? Mostly everything I’m seeing is more of a PT or just a supplemental income only.
I’m willing to take a course/s if needed. Been doing the same thing for 20 years and need a big life change, plus I need to be around more for my kids.
Anyone have any ideas or have any success in this area? Thank you!

Re: Remote Careers
I do the job I used to do in an office remotely now- not by choice. We got sent home in March of 2020 to work from home due to the shutdowns and never went back. The lease was up on our office mid pandemic so they didn't renew it and now they don't want to pay for an office. Personally I hate it but if you want to work remotely, it's not like the old days where you have to look for "remote jobs". Many companies are offering remote work or at least hybrid work for whatever job openings they have. What field are you in?

Re: Remote Careers
I’ve worked in early childhood education for 20 years in different aspects— teaching, curriculum, administration, you name it. There’s really not many remote positions within this field and if there are.c it’s mostly just something small or PT.
I’m not opposed to something different but just have to know what I need in order to make it happen. I might be dreaming but this is a long time coming and I need a serious change.

Remote Careers
lots of jobs can be remote without a new degree. Airlines have booking agents remote, call center, schedulers are remote, all types of companies offer remote positions

Re: Remote Careers
I am an accountant and I work remotely. I do only work part time but there are people who work with me that work full time. I make decent money for the hours that I put in. Accounting is a function that is pretty easy to do remote.

Remote Careers
Both DH and I work in IT remotely forever. Only times we go into an office is to install computers or pick up a computer. All other work can be done remotely logging in to peoples computers in their offices. Website work also done at home. This was the best career to have during the pandemic because we got tons of additional business that way. I always say that to kids that dont know what to major in in college, that anything computers is a line of work that will always be needed.

Re: Remote Careers
I think IT mostly has remote careers. HR positions as well, my SIL is in recruiting and she works fully remote.
ETA also customer service type jobs like call center/chat people
