I’m currently looking online at these 3 areas. Does anyone live in these areas that could help me? Would love to know your likes/dislikes about the areas or any other towns close to NYC. Thank you!

Re: Marlboro-Manalapan-Freehold

Morning! I believe we already messaged a while back about these towns. I live in Marlboro and LOVE it. You can't go wrong with any of the 3, but I think depends where in Freehold. Manalapan is really nice too.
Definitely compared to LI you get more for your money. House size, taxes are less (even though everyone thinks our taxes are high it's not compared to LI or SI). WE have lots of SI residents now. LOL They seem to be moving in more and more, but all great people I've met.
I grew up in Marlboro. Great area, close to the shore (Belmar, Asbury Park, Long Branch, Avon, Pt Pleasant, etc), beautiful farms and orchards (been going apple picking with the kids every fall or peaches in summer), about an hour to NYC and to Philly.
My boys are both in Marlboro Middle School now. My oldest is in 8th and for HS you can test into different schools in the area or just go to your school assigned. He is going to Marlboro HS, but has friends going to another school to do engineering, another friend for law and one going to ROTC. Majority is going to Marlboro though, but nice to have options. This is still new to me, but local towns offer the same thing.
Please message me or ask me any questions. I will say it's been a nice turnover with a lot of families moving in. The houses are from 70's and 80's so original owners are moving to 55 plus communities like my parents and my inlaws live now in Monroe but new, young families coming in.
Thanks!

We moved to Manalapan 4 years ago and I love it. A lot of people from SI move here. There is plenty of Bus tranportation to Penn, which is about 1hr commute. There are a lot of activities for kids. We have been seeing a lot of the same thing here in Manalapan, where the older generations are selling and younger families moving in. Let us know what questions you have.
