I would NOT stay off site, just incredibly inconvenient to get to the Magic Kingdom since that transportation drops you off at the Transportation and Ticket Center, not the Magic Kingdom gates.

Although I was dreading it, I have to say staying off property really was not bad. We paid the extra $20 for VIP parking so it brought us up very close. Then I think we took a short tram to the entrance? And when I stayed on property some of the bus rides took forever to get from one park to another....

I’m not a big Disney person either and I also found it complicated the very first time. We’ve also stayed off site and didn’t find it inconvenient, we did pay the $20 for vip parking so maybe that helped?

I’d also suggest go when kids are in school so the parks are not too crowded, it makes a huge difference.

We narrowed it down to Pop Century and Wilderness Lodge. We did look at the Grove but can't remember why we nixed it. Has anyone had experience with Wilderness Lodge? Its almost $2k more, which DH and I can't really justify the extra expense. We decided against the park hopper since its our first time there. Can we get away with 1 full day in each park? Do we need more? We were factoring in 2 pool days at the hotel within the week of our stay.

What other activities should we look into that may be good for a 6 year old?

For us, it wouldn't be worth it because we are only in the resort to shower and sleep, but since you are going to spend more time there it may be worth it since it probably has a nicer pool. We never do park hoppers. I would probably do 2 days at MK if you can just because of the number of rides there. On the pool day/s you can also check out Disney Springs at night.

Thanks. We have decided to go for Pop Century. We were throwing around the idea of maybe skipping out on Epcot and doing MK two days. Dh thinks there may not be enough for a 6 year old at Epcot?

Don't skip Epcot! There is so much to do there!

Totally agree! Personally I wouldn’t go on a Disney vacation, stay at a Disney hotel and spend two full days at a pool! Epcot vs a pool day?? Not even a comparison!

Thank you!

There’s actually a ton a 6 year old can do in Epcot! The frozen ride alone is amazing and worth it in my opinion! also the night show, harmonious, is beautiful!

Epcot is really my least favorite park. It's annoying to navigate with all the construction walls up in Future World, and the World Showcase is SO crowded these days since every month they have a new food and drinking festival going on. The rides they do have are great there, but you definitely need to purchase the Genie Plus to get on them without waiting in really long longs, since they have very few rides there.

Epcot was also my kids' least favorite park. I love shopping and eating in all of the different lands, but this was not really appealing to two boys lol.

My kids LOVED Epcot when we went and they were 10 (girl) and 6 (boy). One of their favorite rides in all 4 parks is at Epcot - Soaring!

Yes this is true. The walls were annoying, and we went on a Saturday and it was super packed. I remember walking around the countries trying to find someplace that wasn't mobbed for lunch.

Re: Disney

We've been several times. A ton when my kids were younger. We'd always do the park hopper, hit the park hard early and then head back to the hotel for naps/pool time. Then back to another park at night. We always stay for a week.

We went this past October. My kids are older now. 14, 10 and 8. It is SO much harder when they're older because they just want to go go go and you're exhausted. Chat Icon We did park hopper passes and would do 1 park in the morning and another in the evening. We did 1-2 days go back to the hotel pool from like 1-3ish.

My husband watched a lot of youtube videos on the fast passes, genie plus and all the new reservations. It was pretty simple once we got there. We were able to get on 98% of what we wanted.

The only park we've never been too crazy about is Animal Kingdom so by 12pm, we're done with it and ready to move on. We love Epcot, especially during wine and food festival!

We went last May and Epcot was my kids' favorite.
They loved the frozen and Ratatouille rides and they loved all the characters in Epcot.
