For those with cats
How do you plan on keeping them out of the crib?

Re: For those with cats
they sell nets that go over the crib....one to keep those cats out, but also for when they get older...my husband works with kids and one of them just climbed out of his crib, if you use the net early, they will egt used to it being there.....

Re: For those with cats
Good question - I have three indoor cats. They don't like to be locked out of any room. This is going to be a big challenge for us.

Re: For those with cats
I honestly can't see a net stopping them.

Re: For those with cats
Thats the net thing, but check out the price - wow! I think we are just going to have to keep the door closed and maybe get a monitor with the little TV to check to make sure no cats got in the room

Re: For those with cats
they ventured into the crib before he was born but I guess my cats are afraid of him because of his crying so they dont go in there anymore...but I have always used a water squirt bottle to teach them NO to certain things.
PS it was more the bassinett I had to chase them out of every day, they loved that MORE than the crib.

Re: For those with cats
I got that net thing at my shower, assembled it but it didnt fit the crib correctly and I had to return it. i was thinking of using the netting that they use for decoration that is a circle hung from the ceiling as a deterrent. plus i have the bassinet issue too.

Re: For those with cats
In my experience, the best thing to do is just make sure that they are not in the bedroom while the baby is sleeping. I close the cats out, at first they hate it but now they have found other places to sleep. I have two cats who think EVERYTHING is theirs... its not worth me getting upset over. If I were to squirt water at them, I would be squirting them all day long. Image Attachment(s):

Re: For those with cats
We have 2 indoor cats, and when we first set the crib up (before Nick was born), we tried putting the 2-sided sticky tape on a piece of cardboard in the crib, so when they hopped in they would not like it. It seemed to work - they each tried it once and never again after that! However once the baby came I found it annoying that they were all over everything else in his room (changing table, etc.). I ended up just keeping his door shut for the most part.
