Tonight i told my DH...
...that i want a baby in 2 yrs. I think he had a mini heart attack. We are just married a month and always said AT LEAST 4 yrs (and that was what I actually wanted). Now... the thought of 2 is killing me. And 2 is turning into 3 bc of job and financial situs. Im so sad. I want one so bad all the sudden. W T F????

I second what Leslie said. When DH and I first got married, we were going to wait 2 years. Now if DH has his way we'll be starting less than a year after we got married.

ditto.. we thought we were going to wait 1-2 yrs.. but I've been wanting one NOW... I think DH is freaking out a little about my suddent change of heart too

Exactly. I was never sure -- until recently -- that I even wanted to have kids at all. Then, some close friends of ours had babies, and their experiences had a huge influence on me. I also babysit for these friends every so often, and their babies are SO great that I can't help but want one of my own!

Once I got married, I had my own family. As content and blissful as things were for the two of us alone before we were married, we are now one step closer to being parents BECAUSE we are married. I hope nobody takes this as a slam to those who arent married and have kids. Its just that this was my plan - to get married and have kids in that order.

I hear you! We thought longer at first but now we're hoping to be preggers by the end of next summer! One year! Yikes...I'm so excited but nervous too , especially since I caught a little bit of "a baby story" and "bringing home baby" today!!!

I think it comes in waves. I wanted one a few months ago, but now with some newer career goals for us both we're back to holding off and I'm a-ok with it.

Yeah, the baby bug hit me big time recently - I've been surrounded by new babies. But I keep telling myself truthfully when I really, really think about it - I don't think I am ready for it. DH certainly isn't - but he's now off his 5 year plan and knows I want to TTC early next year.

ITA with this. We always thought we would wait, and that we would have kids a little bit later. Then we both found ourselves wanting to expand our family.

I definitely have the baby bug also. Before we got married we said we would wait two years. Then we discussed it again and we said one year. I told him last week I want one now, but I think we are still going to wait the year to start TTC .
