But I didn't even yell
OK, so my Sandy is pretty much a wonderful dog (sometimes she has "accidents" if left alone too long).....but she seems to love to get into the garbage. Yesterday, I was home with her and I walked into my room (where I had a garbage bag on the floor) and she had gotten into it and pulled some stuff out of it. I did not yell, but I did say "no" in a firm voice. She RAN under the bed, it made me feel so bad because I wasn't even that mad. I laid down by the bed and tried to soothe her. after a few minutes, she came out and gave me a few kisses, all was forgiven. I feel bad that she was upset, we NEVER yell at her or hit her but whenever we say "no" she gets very upset, and under the bed she goes. Did I do something wrong with the way I handled the situation?

Ahh..... poor Sandy.
Wasn't she rescued from your local shelter?
IS much know about her background??
I don't think you are handling it the wrong way. Kudos for never hitting or screaming at her.
BTW: Can you post the photo of her wearing her "bathrobe". That is too cute.

sure lemme find the pic. Yes we rescued her at 5 months, she was a stray that was found wandering the streets, she was immaciated when we got her 
She is so spoiled and she KNOWS we love her....here is my girl, as requested
I figured I would give you a few other pics too....how could you be mad at this face.....

I hear you! My heart always breaks when I see Holden's little white butt sticking out from under the bed We don't even raise our voices, just a firm "NO" -- but it makes me think that he knows he misbehaved.
It's bad to be wrapped around their little paws, isn't it.

They definitely know when they misbehave. Sometimes if she does something wrong, I do not even have to say anything and she automatically goes under the bed.
