Charleston suggestions
We're going to Charleston next month for our anniversary. Does anyone have any suggestions while we're there?
Also, do you have any recommendations for bed and breakfasts?
TIA!!

Re: Charleston suggestions
I lived in Charleston for almost 4 years and DH brought me back there to propse b/c he knows it's my favorite city in the country. (I assume you are talking about Charleston, SC....not West Virginia???)
One of the best places I've ever stayed was the Governor's Inn right in downtown Charleston near the battery (where all of the very large old mansions are)....it is extremely pricey--but very beautiful.
The B & B we stayed in for our "proposal" trip was also in downtown...on the battery....called Two Meeting Street. We stayed in "William's Room" which overlooked this beautiful courtyard. Again, pricey, but worth every penny to be right in downtown Charleston.
If you're looking to spend a bit less and are willing to stay on the outskirts....Middleton Place is perfect. It's on Ashley River Rd about 10 minutes from downtown Charleston. Beautiful scenery & wonderful service.
You have to make a stop at Magnolia Gardens during the trip---absolutely stunning scenery and great nature walks through the swampland.
Anyway, if you'd like some other recommendations for food, etc...let me know and I will be more than happy to send a few places your way.
