Do You Think She Just Wants Something??
i used to work with this girl. we never hung out, but always got along great at work.
we both quit and started to work at new places.
one day we bumped into each other at my NEW job. it turns out her new job is down the street fomr me.....
so she popped in to say HI a few times, maybe 3......
the last time she popped in was 6 months ago (or 5 i guess) to tell me shes PG. i was happy for her and gave her a Pregnancy Journal and stuff.....
ok, so i havent heard from her since.
then yesterday she popped into my job.
shes 6 months PG now and i was happy to see her, but kinda akward, cuz i dont really knwo what to talk to her about!
anyway she was like "i just wanted to let you know theyre haveing a baby shower for me in July.... ill bring you an invitation next week"
Ok. thats cool.... but does she just want a gift or something?????
weird.

i dont even know anyone wholl be there!
she said this girl that we used to work with (who moved to Boston) is coming out this summer, but i have no idea if shell be at the shower or not. if she is ill go, if not, i wont.
eta: just b/c i miss this other girl tons.

def. sounds like she's fishing for gifts - otherwise if she really just wnated to be friedns why wouldn't she call to hang out, go to lunch, etc. especially if you both work so close to each other...

She may think youre interested b/c you gave her that journal. Also we all know how schedules are, maybe time flys and she meant well to ask you but she is pregnant maybe its not a good one and she figured this is the perfect opportunity for you guys to get together. some people view friendships differently- maybe to her you guys are close b/c you worked together and now are working close again. Just a thought. I would go though could be fun.
