Anyone have...

any good exercises to help swollen ankles/feet?? It started getting bad around 24 weeks and then seemed to be getting better. I'm now 32 weeks and they are all "inflated" again. I think it probably has something to do with the heat but I was wondering if anyone had any remedies??
Thanks! Chat Icon

Re: Anyone have...

No exercise - you have to keep your feet elevated. Thats the only thing that works for me.

Re: Anyone have...

Actually exercise does help - do some walking or invest in a prenatal yoga tape/dvd. It'll help get the blood flowing.

Make sure to keep your feet elevated when you sit.

I had really bad swelling with my first pregnancy so I know how horrible it is. The above stuff *may* work - it may not. Keep drinking water with lemon to help with the water retention and stay away from salt.

Re: Anyone have...

Walking and any type of movement in you legs that increases circulation will help.

Make sure you try and lay on your left side as much as possible, it helps to decrease swelling. My first pregnancy I slept on my left side with my feet up on two pillows.

Drink even more water, this helps to flush more fluid out. I also ate pineapple (a natural diuretic) and it helped some. Also watermelon is good, too.

Re: Anyone have...

not that you would want to have knee socks on in this heat, but I purchased a few pairs of support socks (you know, like the old men wear) and they really helped to keep my feet and legs from blowing up
