Positions to increase chances of a boy or girl
Someone once told me that there are differnt positions you can put your body in after you BD (or maybe during) that will increase your chance of having a boy or a girl... anyone know anything about this??

I haven't heard of positions, but I heard BDing before Ovulation has a higher chance for a girl and BDing the day of or after Ovulation has a higher chance for a boy.
...or was it the other way around?

If you have sex closer to the cervix(ex. from behind) then you would theoretically have more chance of having a boy because they are weaker but faster so they would get to the cervix and in to fertilize the egg. Opposite for a girl

It worked for my sister  A girl she is having.

I heard this as well, so this is what we did  but hope it does not work bc i really want a  but if it is a boy i will be happy to!!!!

Just because its easier for the boy sperm to reach the cervix if he's deeper.

Its all old wives tales. Its a totally random event. You have 50% chance of either sex no matter what you do. Well, it its done naturally, that is.

there's also a theory out there that if you BD farther away from your actual O date, you're more likely to concieve a girl....for the reasons posted here. With a boy, the sperm is faster but not as strong, so you'd want to BD as close to your O date as possible to have a boy. It's called the Shettles Method and they say it can be 80% accurate. Only thing is you'd need to be charting your cycles very accurately to really know when you're O date is.

Actually it's not-Scientifically boy sperm is faster and weaker. Girl sperm is slower and stronger so it makes sense-If you want a girl you have sex on the days leading up to O but skip the day before and day of O. If you want a boy BD day before day of and day after. This will not work in every case but it may work for some because oif timing and how long certain sexes of sperm survive. Same reasoning behind the positions although I think that is less reliable. This is in Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler and many other books on fertility

My ILs tried this method, really wanted a girl. They now have a beautiful healthy boy!
