Sex and TTC

After all this TTC and infertility business, anyone else feel like a lab rat. And sometimes I feel like sex is a chore. Anyone else feel this way, and how do you deal with it?

PS- I figured the word sex should keep this board moving

uuuum we are not dealing with it well at all. I am looking forward to others answers on this one.

We are not dealing with it too well either. I feel sometimes like sex is a waste when its not O time...And I KNOW thats horrible, and sometimes I feel like its only "normal" and feel less pressure when its NOT O time...I go back and forth.
I actually feel very pressured the last month or two at O time and seem to almost want to avoid it.

IT STINKS!

I love it when the doctor calls to give me my blood test results and tells us to have sex tonight and come back again tomorrow. This is almost always left on the answering machine. DH just rolls his eyes

I have to say that it does not feel AS BAD since DH started coming to the dr. with me.

I am so tired sometimes and resent having to schedule sex. With a 2 year old in the house (and in your bed) sometimes its even worse.

I use to joke that I wished we could use a turkey baster, just put it in and get it over with. Now with IUI my dreams have kind of come true!

Thank Goodness kids dont usually ask about the story of their conception!

Well, we haven't even been able to have sex for the last week and a half, partially cuz of DH's job and partially cuz the Dr. told me not too. So I am hoping when we do it might actually be enjoyable, especially since we know we won't be TTCing.
Other than that, I know how you guys feel. It's been pretty brutal. It's really bad when you come out of the bathroom(after POASing) and telling DH "It's GO Time!" Nothing like spontaneity!

yes, DH gets a little uptight sometimes, and says, cant we just BD to have have fun, not just for a baby??
It is frustrating at times.

It has become a job.

So what do you /can you do to bring back the spontaneity even when its not so spontaneous?

Any sex therapists out there?

It's a job, that's for sure. From the time AF comes and until I O it's most surely a job. It's a chore and half the time one or both of us doesn't even feel like doing it.

But after I O I try to make it like it was before TTC...have a little wine, have a little dinner and have a little sex. LOL Pre-O I will say "we have to do it tonight" but post-O I will just initiate with him...even if Im not really in the mood so much, I do it to give our relationship normalcy again.

But it is still hard and some months are easier than others.

Great idea Kathy. If we don't try to keep some normalcy in our marriages TTC can definitely tear you apart!!!

I made him buy Penthouse and when I know it is a good time to BD, I don't even tell him that I just start reading him something from Forum.....

Hey it works!!! Usually for both of us, even if I am so NOT in the mood before!

Let's see, how do I describe it without being censored...

It's a little more oriented towards Female Viewers and/or couples. Not overly graphic, no gang scenes, no rapes, no crazy hard core stuff.

It's definitely still porn but a little more tasteful and nicer to view together.
