Plus Size Girls- fashion help needed

Besides being plus size, I am fashion IMPAIRED. Comfort is more important to me than style. And usually being cheap doesnt help either.

I am going to tanger tomorrow and I plan to shop. I hate all my clothes and am sick of wearing the same thing all the time.

But I have no idea where to start. Any suggestions????

First, You dont look plus size to me. Im SURE you can wear regular sizes as well, so please shut up....



Second- This season whats hot?
um...gauchos....which are hard to pull off when plus size, but with high knee boots underneath they can be done. Or flats (shoes) .

I would stock up on classics really.

Nice pants....in black, grey, brown...
no tapered ankles...LOL

Some button down shirts....Sweaters Vests over button downs seem to be huge...

Im drawing a blank for some reason on other stuff sorry....

actually I am plus sized and wore gauchos all summer long. I think they are one of those things that could make you look bigger, but you have to get the right fit. A lot of things that people think are off-limits for plus sized girls aren't, if they fit right --- but of course if it doesn't fit right it can be bad.

However I wouldn't feel comfortable wearing them with boots in the fall -- I am just not the high boot type of person, but love the look.


I know there is a Lane Bryant outlet in Tanger now -- and they have a lot of nice things for the fall.

Donna you are sweet but its been a long time since I fit in regular sizes.

I am not sure I can pull off the whole sweater vest thing but I'll look. And I love the short pants with tall boots looke, However.... I had to buy wide calf and now they fall down all the time and look stupid.

I am so fashion impaired I need to be on TLC. Donna- wanna come and be my professional dresser???

Melbernai- your right though, my biggest problem is finding things that actually fit right. My pants ALWAYS wind up being too short, no matter how much I try. I am only 5'7" but I swear my azz and hips hike those pants up a few inches, and the tall are way too long. Maybe I wont be cheap this year and buy them long and have them tailored.

I am very excited to check out the LB outlet. I'll let you know how it is.

I bought a pair of jeans last night that were way too long -- and will be getting them tailored -- but it's worth it IMO sometimes for a really good fitting pant. And actually these were jeans and I got them on mega-sale so they were cheap but great otherwise I figured why not!

The sweater over button down look is nice --- but it annoys me because it looks like it's riding up. Maybe one of the one piece dealies -- where the collar and shirt tails are sewn in.

JFYI My sister said the lane bryant outlets in Tanger has mostly bras and lingerie. She was looking a few weeks ago for me --- and she said she'd still stick with the store.

I got a cute sweater vest in black and a white button down shirt. IT doesnt ride up on me. The sweater is kinda longer....( At LB I got this) ...and trust me I am BIG boobed so you know it could have been a disaster...lol

I too have some gauchos. They have to be a good fit like you said to not make you look bigger.

The boots I got are aerosoles and have a medium heel and fit my calves fine ....which is a shock that I didnt need wide calve ones.

Thanks girls, I am such a loser, I only got a few things, but I did buy 4 pairs of shoes. When all else fails..... shoes still fit

BUt the LB outlet was a huge dissapointment. Its not even open yet. Like Melbernai said its only the Lane Bryant Intimates Outlet that is open.
