Public Thank You to Jax430!!!!

Jackie, you and Brad are Teh Awesome, and I felt I should share it with everyone.

You see, my favorite band in the world right now is OK Go. You saw them dancing on Treadmills on TV. Their lead singer, Damian Kulash Jr., is #1 on my "list of 5". OK Go is going to be playing two semi-local (to me) shows in November - Philly on the 15th, and NYC on the 18th. Now, we live near Philadelphia, so attendance on the 15th is a given. But when I told DH (Adam, for those who forget) that I wanted to go to the NYC show as well, he said "Why do you need to see them twice in one week?" Husbands. It's not like my love of this band isn't entirely traceable back to him, either, because he likes the band as much as I do.

I was in the process of ignoring his objections and planning my NYC trip anyway, when Brad IMs me and asks me if Adam's gotten his emails. What emails, I ask Adam. Adam says that Brad's invited him to the launch for the Wii (new Nintendo Console), and that he wants to go but he's not sure when it is. So I ask Brad when it is - he says it's the 19th, and is probably a midnight thing. EXCELLENT. SO, what this means is that Adam is going to go to the launch with Brad, and I am going to go see OK Go twice in one week, and Adam can't complain about it.

Jackie, you are welcome to come with - Shell Forde might be coming along too.

BTW..I am a big believer that if your favorite band is playing several shows in the area, you should go to every single one, make friends with the band, have them invite you to come see them, make friends with their wives/girlfriends whatever, travel all over the world to see them, have fabby backstage pass things, go to their parties, visit them in their homes etc, have their cell phone numbers in your cell phone, text them while on stage and have them play the song that you texted them. Oh and spent time on their fantastic tour busses pretending that you are a rock star yourself, but then be let back down to earth gently when you have to go back to work on Monday and they continue their tour in Iceland or something...

Awwwww! Thanks Rach! I feel so special, and I had nothing to do with the plan. Glad our hubbies can engage in their videogame geekyness together!

ETA: Hmm..should I be concerned that just almost as many people told you to shut up as said that I'm awesome? Oh well!

Thats awesome Rachel! Men DH just doenst understand why I have to see my favorite bands everytime they come around either. No matter if its twice a year or what have you. ENJOY!!!!!!
