Re: Turkey Burgers
i looked online and a lot of people say onion soup mix which is how i make my meatloaf.
a lot of them also call for 1million ingredients, and i don't have that stocked of a kitchen and am kinda broke today so i can't go out and buy TOO much.
one recipe called for crushed goldfish or other cheese cracker. weird.
hopefully some people wil reply!

Re: Turkey Burgers
I made Turkey Burgers last night...and Saturday night...
I LOVE them...
I seriously just "throw" stuff in there...here's what I normally use...
- chopped fresh basil - chopped fresh chives or chopped onion - Worcester Sauce - Sometimes I throw in a little bit of italian bread crumbs just to hold it together a little better.
Throw it on the grill...mmmmmm
************** I made a receipe one time that called for chopped spinach too...that was good!

Re: Turkey Burgers
Okay guys ... I called my mom and she gave me her "recipe" which is just all estimations but I'll put it here. They were very tasty! It's for a basic turkey burger but you can add different herbs, veggies etc t make it more interesting.
1 pack of ground turkey, a little over 1 pb.
about 1/2 tsp poultry seasoning (or sage)
about 1/8 tsp salt about 1/8 tsp fresh ground pepper 1 egg 1/4 cup of milk 2-3 slices of bread broken up into small pieces to act as a "binder"
form into patties and I cooked in a skillet with a little bit of EVOO.
They were SO yum!
next time I want to experiment with adding fresh herbs or some chopped up green/red pepper, mushrooms, etc.

Re: Turkey Burgers
I throw different stuff into my turkey burgers to make them different when I make them.
Sometimes I chop up green and red peppers or mushrooms, toasted garlic and shallots.
They always come out yummy and juicy

Re: Turkey Burgers
I bought frozen Butterball Turkey Burgers at BJ's.
I just chopped some garlic and added it to olive oil and heated it in one of those "grill pans". I added the frozen turkey burgers and put a little bit of Mrs. Dash seasoning on each one.
DH raved about them... I thought they were pretty good. They were extremely EASY - and that's all I care about! LOL! Good luck!

Re: Turkey Burgers
I can't remember the amounts, but we got a turkey burger recipe from a butcher we used when we lived in Hoboken. We still use it all the time.
Into the ground turkey, mix dijon mustard, horse radish, salt, pepper, paprika.....can't remember what else - it seems like you put in a lot of each thing, but mixed in then cooked nothing is too strong, it all blends well.

Re: Turkey Burgers
For a spin on Turkey Burgers, try making Turkey Meatballs! They are so yummy! Just use your regular meatball recipe and replace it with Turkey.

Re: Turkey Burgers
This is the recipe I use- from Eating for Life. DH loves it and is totally hooked.
1 lb lean ground turkey 1/2 onion, finely chopped 1 tsp horseradish (I don't use this) 1 tsp lite soy sauce 1/4 tsp ground black pepper 1 clove garlic, minced 2 tbsp fresh parsely, chopped 1/2 cup egg subsitute
Preheat grill to high. Combine ground turkey, onion, horseradish (like I said, I don't use it), soy sauce, black pepper, garlic, parsely and egg subsitute. Form into 4 portion size patties. Cook approx. 6 minutes on each side.
If I don't have egg substitute, I'll use one whole egg and one egg white. I also measure my patties to 3 oz so that it's about 4 pts.

Re: Turkey Burgers
We grill them (already formed Perdue raw burgers) and top with cheese and sauteed mushrooms.
