OK further to my last post .. Info on Sedona, AZ
Does anyone have any information about Sedona, AZ .. things to do, how many days you should spend there, hotel recommendations, etc?
For those who have gone to Sedona....did any of you also take a tour to the Grand Canyon (I see its only about a 2 hr drive and that many tour companies offer flights/other tours/etc) Or what other excursions did you take while there
Again , any info would be great (sorry for all the questions!)

Felicia, I will ask my friend who was just there -- she's been a few times-- I know they did a Jeep tour around Sedona. And I think her hotel was exquisite - I'll get the name for ya!

We made a trip to Scottsdale 2 years ago and did a two day side trip to the Grand Canyon & Sedonna.
The ride from Sedonna to GC was not too long, like you said approx 2 hours. It's less then 2 hours from Scottsdale as well. Scottsdale is nice with lots of shops & restaurants but it had a long island feel to me but a lot newer.
We were only in Sedonna one day..we did the Pink Jeep Tours which according to our guide has access to more areas of the red rock mountains...we loved this! We spent the rest of the day walking around the main street that has shops, restaurants and no joke the best ice cream ever. I am not even a big fan of ice cream and had to have it here!
I can't recommend hotels but I noticed there were some that just faced the mountains and they were about to open a big spa resort when we were there.
DH wants to retire in this area is how much we loved it.

I think you saw my Sedona pics. We drove to Sedona from Phoenix. It was beautiful! We walked around to the shops and food places and visited the scenic areas in Sedona. Once we drove to Sedona, we stopped wherever it was scenic. Red Rock was beautiful.

Yes I totally remember your pics, Karissa .. that is one of the reasons we want to see Sedona, because it just looks breathtaking

I think Sedonna would be approx 2.5 hours from Phoenix...we stayed in Scottsdale at the Orange Tree Resort (a time share exchange -- it was really nice but I think there are more spectacular hotels in Scotsdale).

My parents and cousins have been to Enchantment Resort in Sedona a few times and LOVE it. I want to go there so badly but it's a bit out of our price range at this time. I hear it's beautiful there (Sedona in general)!

Jackie , I didn't even realize you were going to Sedona (are we taking the same trips this year? We both did Disney and now AZ, too funny!)
We are probably going around Sept 10th but starting out in Las Vegas.. then Grand Canyon... then Sedona... so I dont think we'll overlap at all BUT def. let me know what you guys wind up doing out there when you get back!
I am getting really excited about Sedona, I hear nothing but fabulous things about the area

That really is funny!
We're going with DH's family. They have a timeshare and trade it up for different places each year. I think we're going to take the 2 hour trip to the grand canyon one day. We're leaving on the 28th and coming back on the 3rd, so I will be able to fill you in on everything. Sedona is supposed to be so beautiful! I'm hoping it's a relatively relaxing vacation, since Disney certainly was not, and I start my internship a few days later.
