Putting a bid in writing
The realtor for a house we are interested in wants a written bid.
Ever hear of this? I've bid on other houses and it was always verbal....
Any advice would be appreciated....

Re: Putting a bid in writing
Both of the bids we submitted were in writing, the real estate agent submitted a form which we signed saying what we bid.

Re: Putting a bid in writing
usually realtors are okay with a verbal offer only if its their listing. if its another realtors listing they HAVE to present the offer in writing because it will be faxed to that realtors office.

Re: Putting a bid in writing
We had our offer accepted two days ago for a house we have been keeping our eye on.
The real estate agent said the first offer HAD to be in writing and then the following ones we could do verbally over the phone. There was a lot of counter-offering going on (since they dropped the price another 20K) the night before and we were offering them even less than that.
