HOw do I know which CD I am at?

How do I know what CD I am at, just so I can plan when DH and I have to be careful.

Had my m/c naturally on 7/20, bleeding stopped a week later. Should I start counting the 1st day I started bleeding on 7/20? Would my body go right back into it's cycle? I know it can take 4-6 weeks to get AF after the m/c, but if it takes 4 weeks, I figure that's a normal cycle of 28 days.

you really can't tell until you've gotten that first full blown AF, to my knowledge. You're body needs to recognize the PG is no longer there and start your cycle all over again, only there is no way to tell really without that AF to count from.

are you still bleeding/spotting? I refused to do anything with DH until it was all over, but I was wierd case where I spotted for 6 weeks, so I wasn't much in the mood for anything, except crying of course.

I totally stopped spotting a week after the m/c. Very weird, I have spoken to other woman, after the m/c, everyone you talk too seems to have had one too after you go through one, that they bled like AF then spotted. I never bled like that at all, the only times I bled were when i went to the bathroom, and random spotting. THen the spotting just stopped, last Wednesday. My Dr must have said to me a million times cause I thought there was something wrong i wasn't bleeding like AF-everyone is different, that's how your body works..still didn't help

I didn't really bleed much at all... only on the day that I miscarried - after that, it was only spotting. I think it varies per woman, and the earlier it happens, the less blood there will be because there isn't much to pass. As for your CD, you can't tell at all... you'll have to wait until your first AF to start counting - some woman get AF in 6 weeks, some get it in 3 weeks - point being, the entire time after a miscarriage you have to be careful with DH because you really won't know when you're ovulating. In all honesty, DH and I wanted to wait the 2-3 months to try again, and we WERE careful when I thought I was ovulating, but (obviously) I was totally wrong - I ovulated much, much earlier than I would have expected. The m/c throws everything off... so I would be as careful as possible until you get your first AF.

Re: HOw do I know which CD I am at?

Totally agree with Beth! Be VERY careful this month, even use protection if you ware planning on waiting a bit.

I was passing tissue and spotting a few days BEFORE the heavy bleeding and when I went in for a sonogram, there was nothing there.Chat Icon That afternoon, the heavy bleeding started and lasted for about 3-4 days. The cramping was horrendous....I was popping Advil and just laying on the couch doing nothing but crying. A warm bath helped a little, but then that subsided after 2-3 days. By then, it was Christmas. I put on the happy face for my nephews, I was feeling better physically, just not emotionally.

DH was the one adamant about waiting, I think he was truly heartbroken but never outwardly admitted it. We did go out for New Years and things got back to normal. I had my bad days and all.....and I was so excited to finally get AF at the end of Jan and I then started watching my cycles via a calendar (not temp taking or anything). We started TTC again in March, and got PG in April.

Good Luck Sweetness!

Re: HOw do I know which CD I am at?

Beth-Thanks for the heads up! I figured my Cycle would kind of back to normal and i would ovulate normally, if that's not the case then DH and I have to be careful all the time. I thought so too that I would only have to be careful during the times I thought i would ovulate.

Shana-thank you for your replies, they really have helped me!

it wouldn't be a disaster if I got PG immed. but we do want to wait at least 1 cycle.

I just feel the need to know:) That's what's frustrating

Nope! Nothing is normal after the m/c! That's why it's so hard to date my pregnancy because the doctors really have no clue when I ovulated because it's not like a normal cycle. Definitely NOT a disaster to get pregnant again, but I can speak from experience, the first trimester was devastatingly terrifying for me, and tremendously emotional - I also felt SO guilty because it happened so quickly and I felt like I never gave enough time to grieve the first. So if you really do want to wait at least 1 cycle, be careful until you get AF because you really have no idea when you'll ovulate!

Good luck!!!!

Is Anger a part of the stages of grieving?

I have been through a MC as well. It stinks. Definitely wait at least one full AF. Mine came at 35 days and my next at 28 or 29 or so. I was soooo excited to see AF come back on a regular schedule. it has been much easier to predict "O." If you want to have relations you should definitely use protection.

Anger is a part of the grieving process. I am still angry about it! I know at least 3 people due within a week of what was supposed to be my due date and although I am happy for them I am secretly seething inside. I am fine and we are actively trying again but deep inside I do wish that I was 7 mos. pregnant now.

I have a deep feeling that's how I am going to be too. THere are 4 other mgr's here at work that are all PG, in their 1st trimester/beg of 2nd, I am happy for them, but I was suppose to be pregnant too.
