well, i basically found out that although I am now eligible through the state to teach, the only thing I can get is a teachers asst. position since I dont have experience. Those pay about $10/hr. So, I decided to stop working in NYC so I can be in NJ and drive to work and school. With the hours I work and commute now (usually 730am - 8pm) there's no way I can get to school. And I am just ready for a change. So, now I'm looking for a job in NJ...I work in HR now but have a degree in Business so I can do a lot of different things.
Let's hope we are both happier soon!!

Just in case you're still interested in an educational job. I know the last job you looked at was in a private school, so maybe that's why the pay is lower. In my district I think the assistants make $18 something an hour.

I feel your pain...it's so difficult. I find ajb.org (America's Job Bank) and nettemps.com very helpful. Nettemps is not just temp jobs as the title might seem to indicate.

Have you tried your alma mater career center/site? My undergrad and grad school both have job postings for alumni.
Just wanted to give you some I just started my job search, so I know how you feel.
