October 20, 2006 -- JESSICA Simpson may be a dumb blonde, but she's not stupid. When her husband, Nick Lachey, decided not to accom pany her on an "Operation Smile" charity trip to Africa, she knew the marriage was over. "I went there on our three-year wed ding anniversary. He stayed home," Simp son told Jane magazine. "On that day, everything became so clear. I was in hospitals with all these sick kids . . . I just knew I needed to find something more in my life, on my own." Replacing Lachey on that trip were Lindsay's hairdresser Ken Paves, pal Cacee Cobb and father Joe Simpson. Jessica has lately been linked to her "Employee of the Month" co-star Dane Cook - earlier this month we reported them canoodling at club Tenjune.

She's such a flake. I read this bit below and just thought it was funny. I can understand being upset Nick didn't go to Africa, I get that, but it seems to me he does plenty of charity work with her (and now without) by visiting childrens' hospitals, doing the troop USO bit, etc and I'm sure his side of not going on the trip just isn't being said. Of course she saw the double rainbow and justified her selfish motivations for not wanting to WORK on her marriage. What a twit.
