Ahhhh! Sorry didn't see this! Ray and I had a wedding in detroit and since we drove up to michigan we decided to drive another four hours to chicago - totally worth it! We only stayed a couple of days but we did a whole bunch.
We loved it there because the city is just so beautiful and clean and there is so much to do!
I HIGHLY recommend priceline!!! We got a room in the Hyatt Regency for like 40 bucks a night - NO JOKE! You have to be patient and keep trying though lol. The Hyatt was pretty nice -only complaint I have about that hotel is that it's RIGHT at the edge of town.
Things to do:
-Went to the top of the John Hancock building - the view is just awesome
-Eat deep dish pizza!!! It's a chicago specialty!
-The Shedd Aquariam - we loved it there! We ate at their resaurant too and it had a lovely view of lake michigan
-Boat tours-Best way to see the city is by boat!! They have a lot of different ones - we did the architechtual boat tour and just loved it!
-Navy Pier - it's SO fun there! They have a lot of great restaurants and it's kind of like fishermans warf in san fran. It's awesome, definitely go there.
-Shopping on michigan avenue - They have a lot of high end fabulous stores to visit and a lot of great shopping!
-We also went to wrigley field and bought some tickets from this guy that was getting rid of them - they were awesome seats! But you obviously won't be able to do that now 
We were there two nights and did all of the above. We totally fell in love and left there wanting to live there. It's an amazing place to go!

I would LOVE that boat tour - don't think they'd do it in January though.  Rats.
