am i the ONLY one?????

ok as i scroll through the board i feel like i am the only one who has not seen my dr. yet
when i called after my BFP they were very nonchalant about it and made the appt. for 11/8
i thought that was strange but accepted it
my sister and sil go to the same dr. and said that was normal for them too. just wondering if i'm the only one here whose not had a blood test or appointment!

Its totally normal not to be seen until 7 or 8 weeks. Is that what you will be at your appointment? Before then they can't do a sono and see anything so it's almost a waste of their time. And believe me, in the next 9 months you will see the doc so much you will get bored with appointments.

I haven't had an appt yet. I will be going when I'm 8 weeks. My doctor also did not say I had to take a blood test to confirm (he saw no need) but I asked for it anyway (I went to a local lab to get it done). I see no need for you to be concerned.

most doctors will see you 8-9 weeks after your last AF to ensure they see a heartbeat and the fetus can be measured.

I M/C my first PG, so with the 2nd, they let me come in earlier for a BETA to see my levels and then we went back for a sono.

I got my BFP on 10/13 and have an appt 11/8.

Those with infertility issues usually go earlier to monitor the PG.

thank you for your responses. hearing it that way it makes sense and it's good to know it's not out of the ordinary. i will be about 8 weeks when i go. thank you all again!

I have my first appt this week but I think it's because we're going away for a couple of weeks next week and would rather know everything is okay before we leave.

ETA: I'm 6 weeks.

I had a beta done as soon as I got my BFP, then had my first sono at 5w3days - I was high risk for ectopic pregnancy since i had surgery on my ovaries and tubes years ago.

As the other ladies mentioned I believe 8 weeks is the norm.

It is completley normal! I felt the same way. I found out I was pg towards the end of May and didnt see the dr. until almost the 2nd week of June.

I saw my doctor almost immediately, but I was a new patient so they wanted to see me earlier. I think it is normal to not be seen until 7-8 weeks now. HPTs are so accurate now.

I will be almost 10 weeks along before I see my doctor....

My first appointment was when I was 8 weeks. It does seem like forever to wait but really so early on there isn't much for them to do.

I'll be almost 7 weeks for my first appoint, but with my first child I was 10 weeks at my first appointment.

I am seeing my OB/GYN on 11/2 - I will be 2 days short of 6 weeks. - I am only going this early b/c I have PCOS and some other issues and he insisted I come in 1-2 weeks tops after getting a BFP. Otherwise the office told me it is usually 6-9 weeks with most 8-9 weeks.

I am the annoying patient at my Drs office I was not supposed to come in until Nov 2nd. I got my BFP on Oct 6. I has some spotting & cramping & other stuff so I begged that they see me earlier.

I had to wait until 12 weeks. It was very nervewracking.

I insisted on going in the day I got my BFP for a blood test. I don't go back now until I am 9 weeks which is next friday and I can't wait!!!!
