hello, anyone ever use EMPIRE for carpets??
have you used them? what do you think i need to recarpet my new home and i dont really have any idea where to go =) .. they seem so easy they come to the home and next day intalation.. so if u have used them id love so me feedback...

My friend used them and was happy with the job they did. She had a coupon and saved at least $200 (possibly more, but I can't remember), which was a factor in her choosing them.
But, the rugs look very nice and she has irregular shaped rooms.

My mom priced carpets for her house and got a price range of $1100-$1500. Empire quoted $2500 - over the course of the hour the Empire person went to $1000 total....do your homework.....

My friend used them and had a terrible experience. They DEFINITELY didn't do "next day", and when they did finally get the carpet she ordered- it was WRONG. I guess experiences vary though.
I used a local place- I felt I should give my money to the mom and pop businesses.

We liked them. My FH bargained with the lady and saved some money. And they did come the next day. They had my old carpet cut up and on the curb and the new one installed in about a half hour.

they are actually more like a carpet contractor - they hire other companies to do the work. A close friend of ours owns a carpet store & installation company in Queens & he is on their "list" of vendors they use when they get calls.
Personally, I called them (before I knew of his relationship with them) just to get an idea of prices & after 2 times, they finally called back, set up a date & then never showed - they finally called me at 9:00 the night of the appointment (6:00 apt) and said they were on their way - I told them I wasn't available that late & was told they will call again to re-schedule- they never called again!

We just used them in September...loves the convenience of having them come to the house for an estimate and then coming the next day (two for us because WE were busy) to install. They did a great job and we are very happy with our new rugs.
