I just found out...
that Im pregnant. Ive been planning a wedding that will take place in 5 weeks. I should be ecstatic but a small part of me is sooo sad beacuse my mom isnt here to share in all of this joy. She passed away almost 8 years ago. Will this emptiness ever go away or will I be sad the first time I feel the baby kick, delivery, first everythings???

congrats on ur pregnancy and impending wedding..it is an exceiting time, im sorry for the loss of ur mom i kno how hard that can be, altho it IS sad im sure she would be sooo happy for u and proud as well, and she would want u to be happy--im sure she is watching over u as we speak and now ur baby has its own guardian angel

I know how you feel- I feel like every happy occasion- will always have a shadow over it
I had to go thru my wedding with out my Mom- and I am scared to get pregnat b/c I feel like I wont know what to do with out her help

I have been noticing that I miss my mom too lately. Its been 12 1/2 yrs and I have all these questions about when she was preggo with me that my dad cant answer...

When I found out I was preggo- I went to the cemetary and literally told my mom and thanked her for helping us get there smooth. Then in the del room the day I was having the baby. I was focusing out the window and thinking of my mom the whole time and asking her help for a healthy baby. I was starting to get so nervous because the baby's heart rate kept going down with the contractions and the beepers on the machines kept going on and off- the nurses running in and out- all the while I was focused on my mom and her as angel guiding me thru- low and behold things started to progress nicely for me and I wound up having an awesome delivery of a 9lb10oz baby boy with only a tiny tear(sorry if tmi)
I really felt my mom gave me the streghth that day- I felt her presence then like no other day- and you will too. Make sure you focus on her during the birth and she will guide you.

I know how u feel. My parents both passed before ( 4 years for my dad and 10 years for my Mom) my wedding. It was sad and emotional on my wedding day. I tried to do little touches that only I would now, so I was not hysterical- after our song, the DJ played my parents wedding song, and I put my throw away boquet at there grave with a note in it. I am going to be very down when I have a baby- my sister has a newborn and i get depressed that my parents are not there to meet there grand daughter. I can only imagine what it is going to be for my when we have a baby. feel free to Fm mail me. here are some hugs

congrats! I went through my wedding, a very difficult pregnancy, and Gianna's birth without my parents and I will be honest there are difficult moments some more then others, but always know that she is with you.. My parents have become my angels and I know they look over the family always! then there are moments when Gianna stares past me and lets out a big sqeaul and smiles.. I get all teared up.. I want to send you lots of hugs!!!!!! And good luck with everything!!!

I don't have any children yet, but my sister is about to give birth to her second anyday. I am so angry, that my Mom is missing out, and sad that my sister doesn't have her around.
I've heard that it can be healing on a level to some women to have a child, and have that mother-child relationship again. Anoinette, beautiful story, btw. I agree that your Mom will be with you through the process if you allow her to be. Hang in there.

I feel very sad too about being pg and not having my mom around...I really truly hope that she can see her grandchild from wherever she is

It was horrible for me. And still is everytime I think how much my mom would have ADORED my son. Even though he wasn't the first or only grandchild I know she would have just flipped for him.
I did try and think of it this was....she knew I was PG even before me, she knew it was a boy and she sees everything.

you will be sad with the first, firsts, but you have to remember your Mom is within you, she taught you everything that you will teach your baby, so be happy and always remember your Mom will always be around you...
