I am having about 14 people. I bought a 22 lb turkey and I bought a fresh one from Bell and Evans.
I bought a big bird because we want leftovers...
But they usually say 1lb per person.

2 Fresh Butterball breasts - about 10 lbs total. It's only us and my IL's. My dad isn't well enough to come, so they are staying home. No one eats dark meat, so I got the breasts for this reason.

I overdid it because it just would be Thanksgiving to me without a giant bird.
I got 19lbs for 7 adults...LOL. We'll definitely have leftovers.
I think I got a Honeysuckle. I wanted a Redbird since it's all natural and hormone free but they only had giant size or really small.

I was planning on getting a 12-14 lb bird....fresh from the store tomorrow
Back in NY we always used Empire kosher birds

We also buy only the breasts, because no one eats the dark meat. We make 2 six pound breasts. I bought Shady Brook Farms at Pathmark this year.
