How much do you feed your lab or large breed dog?
I don't think we are feeding him enough but my vet cut him down from 2 cups 2x a day to 1 cup 2x a day....
He goes crazy when it's time to eat!!!!

Well I feed my lil dog 2 cups a day, she is only 26 pounds. I go by what it says on the dog food bag. I do not think that 2 cups a day is enough for a large dog. I think my sister gives her large dogs 4 cups a day, don't quote me on that though

Misty weighs 60 pounds and gets 2 cups a day. She has been getting this amount for over a year now and hasn't lost any weight or energy. When we got her we were feeding her 3/4 cups a day and the vet said she was looking a little plump so we cut back.
That doesn't mean she's not a food hound though, she will eat anything and everything. But she did that before we cut the food back so

My pooch is 127 lbs. and she gets 4-5 cups a day plus a can or two of wet food. Yes, she is a beast.

I put 2 cups of crunchies in Casey's bowl in the AM. Sometimes she eats it and then in the evening wants another cup. So, I would say 2-3 cups/day. Plus treats

Bella gets about 3 cups in the morning, and she only eats a few mouth fulls, and what ever she doesn't eat is her dinner, sometimes if she really gobbles it down she get a half a cup more, but my DH is the King of feeding her table food

i give Barney 11/2 cups twice a day (he is 95lbs). I am trying to keep him at a good weight to avoid jont problems later on. AT one point I brought him down to 1 cup 2x a day (Vet said this was fine)..but he seemed so hungry still, so he is back up to 1 1/2, and is happY and healthy

Rudy is 65 pounds. He gets 2 and half to 3 cups. He sometimes doesn't eat all of it

Since I feed Norton, I have secretly upped hime to 1 1/2 cups 2x a day.....
He was devouring the 1 cup, and even still inhales the 1 1/2 in less than 1 minute!

I always feel like it's too little as well, but then the vet says he's too heavy and to cut back more.

Our vet had us keep the amount the same (3 cups 1x day) but switch the food. We give him the Lite version now and it made a huge difference.
They said for some dogs it's better because even though they get exercise they still spend the majority of their days laying around.

My vet told me you should feed them less than you think and NEVER follow the directions on the back 0of the bag. I feed my two dogs(one is 90 lbs, 1 is 115 or so) about 4 cups a day 2 in the AM and 2 in the PM. They should probably be getting closer to 3 but i feel so bad especially for my bigger one that boy loves to eat!

My 100 lb dog gets 1 cup 2x a day so 2 cups a day...
duh, like you couldn't figure that out.
He has a weight problem though so he gets a little less than he might like but he's perfect weight now,
oh yeah...weight control cookies too.

My dog is 98 lbs...but he's on a diet and only gets 2 cups a food a day. I feed him when we eat dinner.

My German Shepard is 82lbs and gets 1cup 3xs a day. She had bloat 3 times, so now she gets a few little meals a day.

We feed our labs 1 cup 2x a day.
They are both chocolate labs and one is skinny and one is a chubby thing. They are fed the exact same everyday

Our bench lab (60lbs) gets 2 cups a day. 1 cup in the morning and 1 in the evening.
Our field lab (95lbs) gets 3 cups a day. 1.5 cups in the morning and 1.5 in the evening.

My lab which is about 60 pounds now gets 3 cups 2x a day... last night my DH told me I was feeding her too much  But we were trying to get some weight on her.. I think I did a good job with that

My pup is 6 months old... he gets 4 cups a day.... hes VERY active though we go on hikes and walks everyday. Sometimes he gets more than that.

85 lb rottie....1 cup 2x a day. our vet is happy she's 85 lbs, she's got a small stature but because of hip problems in large breeds and rotties, the dr is happy with her weight. She does get treats and whatever the baby drops from her highchair
