Small Prob With Title UPDATED
My lawyer called this morning to tell me there's a slight problem with the title....apparently, a certificate of occupancy is not available. They told me it may take a day or two to resolve; it may take longer and ultimately, delay my closing.
ETA:
Ah....problem solved only a few hours later. I'm a very nervous person but feel so much better now! Everything is on track...yay!!!

Re: Small Prob With Title
This happened with us. We wound up closing (after the 2 week delay) without the CO but had it stipulated in the contract that the previous owner (in our case, the executor) was responsible for getting the CO. We wound up getting it about 2 months after we closed (mostly b/c of our schedule - not theirs).

Re: Small Prob With Title
sometimes money can be put in escrow for the c/o at closing, some title companies will work with the attorney to make the closing happen
