Has anyone been to Disney in mid-December?

Thoughts?

I heard this is the least crowded time of year.

Does Mickey's very merry christmas party interfere? Is it worth going to?

We're considering the weekend of the 16th.

We've been there in January before, and experience weather between 40 and 80 degrees. I don't really care about the weather. We are the determined vacationers who are out in the downpour enjoying all the rides while everyone else is running for cover. it was SOOO freezing cold the night FH proposed, but it made for a cute pic in our many layers and matching ski jackets!

The Magic Kingdom will be very crowded on the day of the party as they are admitted to the park around 4.00. The MK will also close early to those without party tickets/wrist bands.

I heard the party is great -- they have a special parade & firework show plus nearly all the rides are open until I believe midnight. I read on a Disney MB that after the parade/fireworks the park starts to empty out with virtually no lines on anything.

The cool thing is the party ticket is seperate from the Magic Your Way passes so you can get a regular ticket and go to two parks on the same day wirhout getting hppers while still getting 8 hours at the MK.

From what I understand the other parks will have mild crowds, nothing outrageous. But who can tell in advance?

Have fun!
