pregnant and bleeding
I have a question. I found out I am pregnant, starting bleeding VERY heavy for about a week. Thought I miscarried and went in for an ultra sound and found an actual heart beat. My HCG has been still going up despite the fact that I have been continually bleeding (not just spotting). I have another ultrasound coming up to check things but the constant bleeding is just scary. I have heard that people have hemoraged a bit, some for weeks and others have had bleeding, but I feel I have lost a lot of blood, just wondering has anyone been through this? (about 7 weeks along)

Re: pregnant and bleeding
I am sorry that I have no personal advice to give you, but know of two different people who did hemmorage a more than "normal" amount, and had normal pregnancies and babies.
A co-workers daughter was hemmoraging with her 1st child and almost voluntered for a D&C, though there was no "proof" of a m/c. She didn't, her mom convinced her to just wait it out. GOod tihng b/c she ended up having a beautiful healthy baby boy! She is now PG with her 2nd!
I would say wait and see what the HCG levels do and see the next ultrasound.
Easier said than done, I know, but see what those tests and your Dr say.
MANY and that all works out for the best!!!!!

Re: pregnant and bleeding
Is there the possibility of "vanishing twin"? I've read that it's possible to conceive twins, but to lose one very early on- which causes bleeding. The other baby usually goes on with a normal pregnancy.
ETA good luck- and I agree with the pp to just follow your docotor's directions. If your HcG levels are good, then likely everything is OK.....

Re: pregnant and bleeding
have they checked your progesterone level.. i have a luteal phase defect and my progesterone level does not climb like it's supposed to. i bled in all 3 of my pregnancies in the beginning and had to go on progesterone supplements to bring up the level.

Re: pregnant and bleeding
I would feel confident that they found a heartbeat and that the Dr. is not worried. Until they are worried, I wouldn't sweat it as much.

When I was pregnant with DS I didn't even know until I was around 20 weeks. I had bleeding like you described the whole time-I thought it was my period. My bleeding would last about 5 days and would be heavy. DS is perfectly healthy and normal, so I'm sure that it didn't hurt him.

Re: pregnant and bleeding
Thanks for all the feedback! I am on progesterone to help with the levels (to keep them up). It is just so amazing that I can bleed this much on a continual basis and still be ok. I did think about the whole possibility of having miscarried a twin... this is crazy. I appreciate all your thoughts and support!
