Just pregnant?
I got a couple of BFP's since Friday. I have to call the dr. tomorrow to get a blood test done. Anyone else just find out recently? If not, can anyone tell me what to expect at the first dr's visit?

Congrats!!!! How exciting!
Well my dr. wouldn't see me until the 8 wk mark & then they did an ultrasound; took blood and did a glucose test.

After the HPT I went to the doctor's office. I gave a urine sample, blood test. That's it!!!! They just want to confirm that you are PG
I had just had my yearly exam 1 month prior with a PAP.
The "real" visit was at 8 wks. I had my first sonogram.

I just found out I was pregnant last weekend. i took a couple of tests and they were all positive. I am going to the doctor for my first visit tomorrw.

I just found out on Friday too.
I got 2 faint lines very early on, so im giong to try my best to wait until the end of this week or beg of next week to go get bloodwork done. I want my numbers to double before i go in.
Congratulations!!! We are going to have Augus babies!!!

At my first vist they just took blood to run genetic tests and took a urine sample. They also sat with DH and I and walked us through a little guidebook and what to expect. Our first ultrasound is at 10weeks.

Congratulations! My first doctor's visit wasn't until the 7 week mark but I think what to expect is all the same....they are going to take a couple viles of blood, ask questions, answer any of your questions and probably go over dos and don'ts with you. They will weigh you - go over weight gain numbers with you.
When I went at 7 weeks I didn't get a blood test to confirm the pregnancy because they did an internal sonogram...which was proof enough

I went at about 7 weeks, they took urine, some blood... I had my first sonogram at 9 weeks and then two days later saw the doctor for a more thorough visit... they took like 7 vials of blood then...

I just found out recently too. I am about 6 weeks now. I went to the Dr. last week and gave them urine and blood samples. I also had a pap, since it had been a year since my last one and they said since it was so early, that it was safe to do it now. they didn't want to wait until after the baby is born to do the next one. I got a prescription for prenatal vitamins too.
I will go back in about a month and will have my first sonogram then, and at that point I will be about 9 1/2 weeks. It worked out well I guess, because if all is OK with the sono, we will tell the family at Christmas 
I also liked being able to ask all of my questions while it is still early in the pregnancy.
