Re: 6 mo Jack Russull needs a home
Is this a joke??
She gets along with your other dog and family, but you want to dispose of her because she is "too active"??
I hope she is spayed.

Re: 6 mo Jack Russell needs a home
Are you interested?? Then please do not judge me. I didnt want to post "personal information" but if you must know, my daughter is stating therapy for her leg soon and we will be out of the house 3 times a week for several hours traveling back and forth. I am an animal lover, please dont make judgement.

I am not interested in your personal information. But, I feel bad for your poor puppy. Pets are not disposable.
This is a free board so I can post my feelings if I want to.
Good luck finding a home.

Re: 6 mo Jack Russell needs a home
you obviously have nothing better to do than to "butt" in. I am trying my hardest to keep and train a puppy while taking care of my daughters medical needs which "just happend" at the same time. Please keep in mind some of us were raised with "manners". Yes its a free post, but it does not apply to you.

Re: 6 mo Jack Russell needs a home
I will be the first person to say that many of the people here are overly judgmental of people who take in an animal and find that they can't properly care for it. However, with a Jack Russell puppy, I do have to ask what you expected and give a little bit of an, "I told you so." I was recently scolded on my dachshund bulletin board for not exersicing my dachshund enough and you know what--those people are right. I have an energetic dog and if we don't take long walks or at least play fetch in the yard he will get into more trouble.
Anyway, I am sorry about your daughter. I know many people who love JRTs and I will ask around. I would take in more dogs, but my dachsie is too dominant to be safely living with another dog.

Re: 6 mo Jack Russell needs a home
thank you very much. We just moved into a large home and the yard is not going to be fenced in (we rent) so i try to use gates and such. She is so good she wont run away, Thank god !!!! I thought my toddler was energetic and that the 2 of them would hit it off. that lasted a week until my little one took a small tumble while running and popped her hip and elbow. Its like having two toddlers !! I love JRTs and always wanted one. Boy oh boy !!!
My other dog is 6 and i guess i forgot what it was like to have a puppy. I deserve the "i told you so's"

I really recommend you try to stick it out more.. most puppies are hyper and energetic.... She will calm down...

Re: 6 mo Jack Russell needs a home
Thanks im trying !! I love her, she is so smart !! I just ordered the training book. I know, im backwards, lol. I was told that they cannot have full run of the house while training. We have a "dog" play area now for Jetta.

Re: 6 mo Jack Russell needs a home
I, too, was wondering if you should just wait it out a bit longer. My dog is definitely more of a handful than I expected. I thought I was an experienced dachshund owner, but my last dachshund was shy and submissive and this one is not. My dog is very hard to manage but I can never deny the fact that he has so much personality. He is my clown!! Someone on a dog website told me to always remember that sometimes we love our most troubled and difficult "kids" the most.

Re: 6 mo Jack Russell needs a home
So true ! I am now realizing that i do need more time. I just freaked out abit with my daughter, things just happened all of a sudden. We are blessed to have her. She is a good watch dog for a young puppy. She alerts us for things our big dog doesnt. My eyes were halfway shut. I will use the training book as a guide and maybe consider a training class on the weekend after my daughters therapy.
Now i feel so silly.

Glad to hear you are coming around.. I know sometimes it gets hard but its like a child you have..Sometimes you want to flip out.. but there is always light at the end of the tunnel...
