Three steps forward....five steps back
Per Dr. Brenner's request, DH had to be taken off of the high blood pressure medication he has been taking for the past two years and try an alternative med because the meds he was taking was affecting his sperm production. This is the three steps forward.
Now, I get a call from the dr. and he says that I am a sickle cell anemia carrier. I'm not sure exactly what that means since I was at work when he called and I couldn't talk.
Since dh is part african american he has to be tested asap because they are the prime carriers of this gene.
Fertility treatments are at a stand still until all bloodwork is completed and reviewed.
I hate hate hate hate hate hate this!!!

I am sooo sorry. I know how frustrating delay can be.
If it helps, keep in mind that technology has come so far, even if you both are carriers I believe PGD can be used to correct (so to speak) this problem.

I'm sorry, it is tough and just like you say, three steps forward, five back. I don't know anything about sickle cell, but would like to wish you luck.

I'm so sorry you got bad news. As Kara said, FM Halisa. The good thing is you know in advance so the problem is being addressed.

Thanks everybody. I know it's not the end of the world, but just when we thought we'd be able to do an iui next month, we get this call.
DH can't see the dr. until the 8th, and it takes two weeks to get back those results, so hopefully in Feb we can get this ball rolling!!
