Does anyone have a Bassett Hound?
MY DH is dying for one. I never grew up around pets and I don't know anything about this type of dog or if they make good pets. Any info would be great! Thanks!

our friends have one... we were going to get one... only changed our mind because we fell in love with the puggles..
he loves his!! look into basset hound rescue on LI... they have a HUGE group on long island.. always at all the pet expos/shows... great website too )if i remember correctly)

There are so many unwanted dogs and cats that need good homes.

we have a basset mix that we adopted from the shelter about 2 years ago. we think hes basset/beagle mix. he is SUCH a SWEETIE!! from what i understand bassets in general are pretty low energy dogs. i know ours just likes to hang around the house and he isn't like constantly needing to be played with, etc...
hes very calm as long as he is with people. we have to put him in the crate when we're not home or he really tears up the place LOL
but, basically hes a great dog, good around other people and other dogs, very calm, and absolute adorable

Funny you mention that they are low energy. The main reason my DH wants one is because theu are lazy, just like him!
