Core foods
I am trying to make a shopping list.
Does anyone have good suggestions for core foods, things that I should add to my list?

Re: Core foods
I don't do core - I need to be able to eat my junkie hot dogs and snacks, but if I had to make a grocery list these would be my necessities
Eggs Skim Milk Brown Rice (I like basmati brown rice, it has a better flavor) Potato or sweet potatoes yum Fruits for snacking Chicken skinless boneless Whole wheat pasta Fish like salmon
Ideas for meals:
Spaghetti Bolognese - you can make your own helathier version of the meat sauce using 95% lean meat (or better), onions, garlics, carrots, diced tomatoes, tomato paste, basil, oregono, etc.
Rice and Beans
Kebabs with couscous
Roast chicken
Stuffed peppers, tomatoes or cabbage
If you need ideas for recipes I have the turnaround program cookbook that has core plan recipes
Good luck!

Re: Core foods
thanks. I love both WW plans, but right now I have no willpower, so I feel like I need to start with Core.
The other thing with both these plans is you really need to cook. I have to get back in the habit. Its sooo hard for me now since DH isnt home for dinner and DC could care less if he had mac n cheese every nigth and rarely etas what I cook anyway.
But I am doing it! I cant stand myself anymore. Thanks for the list and I may take you up on some ideas.

Re: Core foods
bananas.... skim milk.... oatmeal, cream of wheat, FF yogurt, FF salad dressings, fish, FF cheeses, couscous, sweet potatoes, etc................ I posted a good core recipe on here a week or so ago. If you gp into dwlz.com under receipes then click on core receipes a bunch comes up. I made the crockpot core raspberry pecan chicken. It was great. Also, they make whole grain rice mixes now. HTH
