day 21 test?

is this cd 21 the best way to test for progesterone to see if you ovulated?? ty!

That's all it is...a test to see if you ovulated and if all your hormone levels are where they are supposed to be.

I had this today. It was a blood test done 8 days after my LH surge to test my progesterone levels to confirm that I actually ovulated.

well i got my test results back....

and on day 21 i actually got my period so i freaked and called drs office and they said to test anyways.

my results were 1.8

i hear thats not good right?

I am not sure about the value, but if thats the day you got AF then the progesterone should be low. I think the interpretation depends on when you ovulated.

There are a host of things here.
1. When did you O? You should go for the test 7 dpo not CD 21 because not everyone ovulates on CD 14.
2. I have read that the level should be 7 or above but everyone is different. These numbers are just guidelines. i was told by one fertility Dr that I "wasn't winning any races with a progesterone level of 1.5. Whatever that means
3. You definitely got your period on CD21? Or was it spotting?

i definately got full blown period on day 21. sigh grrr!!!

i cant do opk bc of pcos ...i wont get accurate readings.... and my body temp is funny bc of thyroid so i cant do body temping i have been told.

so how the heck can i tell when i o'd and even IF i o'd so i know what day to do prog test?? aaaks sooo confusing!!

I do a blood test one week after I ovulate, not necessarily day 21. I was on progesterone suppositories because I had an IUI and my progesterone was 24.7, whatever that means, my doctor was happy with the number. HTH.

its a pain in the neck but you can go for blood tests to detect ovulation (the LH surge)
