I know this should be on the travel board, but I need an answer really quick re: car rentals in disney.

For those of you that have been to Disney....

My DH & I are going next week & are staying Downtown Disney. We plan on going to Magic Kingdom & Universal Studios. Do you think renting a car would be cheaper/easier than relying on shuttle busses and or cabs?? Im looking for the most economical way. I never been there before, so I have no idea the distance is between the airport to the hotel / hotel to parks are.

We always rent a car for the times we decide not to go to the main attraction areas. I honestly WOULD recm'd it.

We ended up driving to Disney in October (my son had an ear infection so we couldn't fly) so we had our car down there with us. The shuttles aren't terrible but it was definitely quicker and more convenient to have our car.

Mousesavers.com recommends certain car rental companies that you might want to check out. Make sure whoever you rent from is right in the airport. Certain companies you have to take a shuttle to the car rental place and that is a drag.

But anyway, I would say rent the cheapest car just so you have someway to get around on your own!

unless you are going to sea world or universal studios or other stuff outside the park, then you don't need it.
we rented a car and used it one day to go to the above mentioned places. complete waste imho.
