Anyone lose their om around Christmas?
my mom passed away in 1994 the day after christmas, dec. 26. sometimes i don't even look forward to christmas anymore.

My mom, who had terminal lung cancer, decided to wait until after Christmas. She died on January 9th. I know she was only pushing herself to get through the holidays for her family. I hate January all together and holdiay's will never be the same.

my Mom died August 29th and I dont look forward to any holiday's
no one in my family does- we are hoping it will change once someone has a baby
but that's a whole other issue

i could have written this post myself!! my mom had terminal cancer as well and died on january 6th. she pushed her way thru her last christmas also. i feel the same exact way as you.

My mom passed away on Christmas Eve in 1999, and this will be my first official holiday season that I am looking forward to because I have a beautiful 10 month old baby that I can't wait to spoil! Hugs to everyone!

my grandpa, who was the closest person in the world to me, died dec. 16 last year. christmas will never be the same...i honestly hate it and wish i didn't have to go through with it. NYE also isn't fun anymore...i went to bed before the ball dropped last year because i just didn't care.
and to make things worse, my beloved grandma died right before thanksgiving...so that holiday is ruined as well.
my grandparents were closer to me than my mom (i don't have a dad even though he lives with my mom) and their loss, to me, is the hardest thing i've ever had to go through.
holidays just aren't fun anymore, and DH and i both hope that things will be much different when we have kids

My mom just passed away this past November and it is going to be so hard this Xmas. I dont even want to decorate or be happy, but I have to for my boys

No but my mom's birthday is December 23rd and my dad's is Jan 1st and then he died on Jan 15th... sucky weeks.

My dad passed away on Feb. 24, 2005. Since than the holidays to me are just like any other day. I hope that changes one day but this is how I feel now.

my dad passed away Nov 27th last yr and I will never forget the feeling of looking for funeral clothes in the smithhaven mall with Christmas music and decorations. It was the worst feeling in the world...It still maikes me numb thinking how joyful the world was while things were so chaotic and horrible.

My mom died Dec 21 and was buried on Dec 24th 2004. It has been horrible, you do cope, but it is hard, there is not a day or nite that goes by that I don't cry. She was and in my heart my bestfriend. She is so missed by me.

My best friend's DAD died Dec 29, 1991, after 6 months of battling panceatic cancer. Words can not describe what this man meant to me. After all these years, I still cry everytime I think about him, sometimes I'm more emotional about his passing than his own family.
I go to the cemetary with the family every year right before Christmas. Then is 1997 my MOM passed on Sept 1st after a long battle with Breast cancer and my DAD of a broken heart on Aug. 23, 1998. They are all buried in the same cemetary. Sometimes I feel guilty cause I get more upset going to my friend's father's grave than my parents.
It just sucks that we have to lose the people we love so much
