Re: Myomectomy (Update)

Good luck!

For what it's worth, I had a myomectomy back in 2002 to remove massive fibroids as well. Less than 6 months later, I got pregnant naturally, although it turned out to be a chemical.

I have a good feeling about you...now that you've evicted those "unwanted tenants"...you'll be posting your BFP news soon!!! Chat Icon

Thanks Again, Girls! Recovery is kicking my arse! I haven't been able to sleep comfortably and Coughing hurts sooo much. But, I am not complaining! Hopefully, I can say that it was all worth it. It gives me perspective on how a c-section is going to be like. The doctor said that from now on, I could only give birth via csection. Fine with me!

I'm already bored out of my skull. Thanks Donna and Jeannine for the books! It will definitely keep me busy!

Re: Myomectomy (Update)

Hold a big pillow over your stomach when you have to cough or sneeze. I also will need a C-section. My friend who had a myo first told me that the C-section recovery seemed like a "cakewalk" (her exact word) compared to her myo recovery. She went in expecting it to be similar and then the C-section recovery was much smoother. I watched a lot of movies during my recovery.

Thank goodness, I do not need my pillow anymore! Pain is almost gone. My scar is healing nicely and I could barely see it.

Today, I got out of the house for Lunch. It felt great finally getting out ! And I get to drive on Thursday!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Of course, I am not going to be 100% for another 4 weeks.

But, it looks like I am back online to support all of you girls! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Myomectomy (Update)

Wow!!! Nice recovery...BTW, according to a book that I am reading right now. If you are young a myomectomy can GREATLY improve your chances of conceiving naturally...so you may be in really good shape for TTC!!!!!

Thanks Girls!!! I was telling DH that my mind tells me that I am well but I have to listen to my body. Not only did we go out to Lunch....we went out for Dinner and I am a bit exhausted. I have to take it easy.

Gerty, I am 36 pushing 37......is that considered young? I am young at heart! Which book are you reading?

Well, at dinner, I *think* we saw a sign. As we were being seated, the hostess takes us to a table with 2 chairs and a high chair. The high chair was left there throughout the entire dinner. I told DH...."Thank Goodness I am not feeling emotional right now." We even joked around about our invisible child and even goo goo and ga ga'd over it. Chat Icon

Re: Myomectomy (Update)

The highchair story is GREAT! And since you are under 40 - yes you are considered young.
