baby #2 question

Did anyone who got preggo fairly easily with #1 have a problem getting preggo with #2? (Yes, even though I am not trying yet - I am thinking about it).

Same here except it's not Derek looking at me.

My friend had a hard time with her second, took over a year while her first was the first month trying.

Haven't tried yet but I wonder the same thing. I'm trying to time it perfectly but if it takes time that could throw my whole plan off.

Re: baby #2 question

I am currently trying for baby #2. It seemd so easy the first time around. This past November I had a m/c after trying for a few months. Never even thought I would have a m/c since my first was healthy. Now we are trying again. I wanted my kids to be at most 2 1/2 to 3 years apart. We definitely should have started earlier because now they will be 3 1/2 to 4 years apart. I don't remember it being this hard.

Me too except it is Derek looking at me (not Karens DH though...unless he leading a double life as my DH Chat Icon )

I got preggo the first month with all 3 of my kids.

Good luck when the time comes.

That was my biggest fear - what they call secondary infertility. Not being able to easily get PG again after having one child. However, it was not an issue for us. I had been tracking my cycles with the CBE Fertility Monitor and when we decided to try, I got PG the second month (first month was just bad timing).

Nope, we were very fortunate. Pregnant the first month we tried (both times).

Several of my friends have had long bouts of secondary infertility. The last friend that had the issue had a 5 year gap between her children (she wanted them very close in age). She did get pregnant with #3 almost immediately after baby #2 at her doctor's suggestion.

Re: baby #2 question

I got pg with #1 the second month trying. With #2, I tried for almost a year, had a mc, then got pg 3 months after the mc and had baby #2. However, I think part of the problem with #2 was that #1 didn't sleep at all, and was very difficult, which made timing #2 perfectly extremely difficult.

Re: baby #2 question

I got pregnant very easily, but miscarried. I was pregnant again 2 months later with twins and I miscarried one of the twins, but the other twin was perfectly fine and healthy.

Re: baby #2 question

Big time. My children are five years apart and not by choice. My first pregnancy was effortless (at the age of 30) both in terms of fertility and actual pregnancy.

However, the second time around, although I would achieve a pregnancy, I was having very early miscarriages. Although I underwent fertility testing, there was never a clear answer as to why.

My advice to anyone in their thirties who wants another child is to try. You can't attempt to fix a problem until you are aware of one.

Me too and I don't know how I've been so blessed.

One of my best friends is currently, pregnant and due 5 days after me. It took her 1 month with DS and almost a year this time...Needless to say, I was thrilled we could do it together!

I have been TTC# 2 for almost a year and with Alex I got pg on the 2nd month of trying. It is frustrating. I haven't sought professional help yet, I am going to give it a few more months and see.
