SCARED!!!!

So I think I am just scared to try another IVF Cycle. I have had 3 IUI's and 3 IVFs (last one ended in a miscarraige). I am just scared to do this again and feel horrible, depressed, etc if things end up like last time. Not to mention how the medication makes you crazy and depressed. I was planning on trying again in December but postponed in thinking, "not around the holidays". Then I was going to do it this month and well, just didn't!

Its been 5 years since Dh and I started this and I am just scared of more failures BUT want a baby....this absolutely sucks.....sorry needed to vent. How do we get over being scared to try again?

The only advice I have is just to plow forward. I have also had 4 failed IUIs, and 1 IVF that ended in a miscarriage. I am going to try my hardest to get what I want but I also know there is a point where I just won't go any further!

I don't think there is any set equation for when enough is enough. It stinks and is unfair but think of what the end result could be!

Don't be afraid to take a little break. Sometimes you need it, the hormones and injections and stress can all get to be a little much so it won't hurt you to take a short break. You will know when you are ready to get back into it and you won't feel as though you are pushing yourself along.
Good luck to you, I understand how stressed you must feel right now.

I'm so sorry you feel this way and I know how you feel. IVF is a scary thing and I think sometimes you need to take a break but I think you should go forward when you are ready and try as hard as you can to have a positive attitude even though it's hard. I wish you luck!

I agree with Gerty. I think I went into my 3rd IVF too soon. I wasnt emotionally ready and the failure took a big toll on me. In adiition to time off I STRONGLY suggest getting into therapy. It helps sooo much because this is really more than 1 person can handle.

I agree. I also had 6 failed IUI's and an IVF that ended in a m/c. I was scared to death of another one, or what if this doesnt take. But you cant think that because I think you need to walk into this whole process with a positive attitude, which I think makes the difference.
I wind up doing a FET and got PG have have 3 month old twin boys.
Do you have any eggs left over from your last IVF??
FET is less stress on your body and you dont have to take injectables.

I agree with Gerty, I think it doesn't do any harm to take a break & regroup and get a little "normal" in your life for a change!

I am just about to start stims and I am nervous. DH & I have been TTC 6 years now, it sucks.

I took a break over the summer and it did me the world of good! Good luck with whatever you decide to do and take care of yourself!
