why did you choose the country you did?

hey everyone,

dh and i are thinking seriously about adopting a child, whether or not we are able to have biological children. i have been doing some research into the process and am finding it to be a little overwhelming.

i was wondering, how did you all come up with the country you wanted to adopt from?

right now, i think i am most interested in the ukraine, because it seems like you can choose your child. but maybe that's not such a good idea?

i don't know, we're a little confused right now. i would greatly appreciate any input from experienced adopters!

We felt it in our hearts. We just knew the minute we found out that we could adopt from Ethiopia. There was never a question once we "felt" the right path.

thank you, great thread! we are just in the beginning stages of thinking about adoption, so the more opinions we can get, the better!
