? for the teachers
What is the difference between a teachers assistant and a teachers aide? Is certification required for either?

In my district, a Teacher's assistant is there for special ed. kids. An aide is only for kindergarten, and they make much less than the assistants.

You need certification to be an assistant (I know you have to take some type of test) I think assistants get paid a little more. In my school assistants do reading and math tutorial, and the computer lab, aides are usually just one on ones for kids that need them.
