I have a question for you guys re: a late AF
I am late, AF should have been here on the 19th, I have POAS and all BFN, no symptoms of AF that I always get, until today- ugh, they are a bit different, yesterday I was running a slight fever, I have had headaches, Im getting these strong strong sharp pains in my ovarys here and there, my boobs hurt but by my peck area, my lower back, really into my butt area hurts really bad, I tested today and still BFN. I am NEVER late or miss a period, so now I am concerned. If its NOT a BFP then what could be wrong? Anyone go through this? Can I be getting false negatives? I am so confused and scared. Any thoughts? thanks

First of all, you could be late or missing AF just because of stress.
Secondly, some people don't have a very high HCG level at first and it doesn't register on the HPT's. You may want to wait a few days (I know it's hard) and if no AF and still a BFN after the weekend, call you Dr. for a blood test.
My friend kept getting BFN's on her HPT's and when she went to the Dr., she was PG and she now has a healthy and happy two year old!

I would call your md, maybe a tubal pregnancy.I think your Hcg's arelower then. not sure though.

Tubal pregnancies, would be picked up on a hpt just like a uterine pregnancy. I sure pray it's not a tubal pregnancy. You don't know you are late for AF, unless you know for sure when you ovulated.
I would go to the doctor and get a beta done. That's the only sure way to tell if you are indeed pregnant.
Some women just do not, get bfps on hpts, especially when implantation is late....you may not get a bfp till a few days after AF is due or your kidneys don't absorb the hcg when the blood flows through.
What pregnancy test are you using ? Are you testing with first morning urine ? In early pregnancy that's usually the strongest.
Also with pcos, a lot of things can be going on . Pcos usually causes...annovulatory cycles. Are you being treated for the pcos ? Are you taking metformin, or clomid or femara ? Provera?
Best thing you can do, is go to the doctor ...and explain to him/her what's going on, get bloodwork and a u/s.

Hi, thank you everyone for responding. well here is the story , I called my doctor and told them I am 7 days late, we have been TTC but I have been taking POAS test and all BFN, so she said hold on, she came back and said he likes to wait till your 6 weeks late before he sees his patients to see if he can see anything. I thought that was strange. but I guess I have to do what they say.
Last month I got AF on day 27- odd for me, Im usually anywhere from 28-32 day cycles. I didnt do the OPK b/c I figured by only the calculator that Id prob ovulate when Im away with my mom so I missed out on this month. So according to the calculator I should have O'd on aug. 6- when I returned from vacation, DH have had sex from that day up until day 20 if I ovulated on the 6th. This is tricky b/c I didnt use a chart or the OPK test. So I figured ok lets have sex from aug 6- and if I ovulated on that day we went to 20dpo. My period should have been expected on the 19th according to last month but again I gave myself to day 32 since that is my usual, well that was 2 days ago, and no sign of AF- I always get signs that she is coming- especially the day before- I get nasaeu, the poops, bad bad cramps and bloating - didnt get anything, now yesterday I woke up with strange sharp pains in ovaries- that came and went, my boobs today hurt more than ever - very very soar, after I eat Im getting an icky feeling hard to describe, and I keep running to the bathroom cause I swear it feels like I got my period but nothing is there. The test I have used are 1 ept and 2 first responses, the ept and 1 of the first responses I did in the morning and 1 I did in afternoon and used a cup. I tried to vary it to see. So now I just have to wait another 5 weeks to see what the heck is going on. Is the norm? I thought they do blood test right away? maybe I will go to plant parenthood or something- I just dont want to wait around if its something serious or other than that Im pregnant, ya know. what should I do ?
oh no Im not on any meds- of anything , no pill for over 6 years. what is pcos?
welp I just called my doctor and told them I dont want to wait 6 weeks in case something is wrong with me and since I will be 35 in 2 months, if anything is wrong - lets take care of it now! she said the receptionist he likes to wait to see if he sees something but If Im uncomfortable I said yes, I think its odd that all these test are BFN and Im late. I want a blood test- is that what a beta test is? I need to learn the lingo for this. so monday night I go in. ahhhhhhhh till then I guess.

When they say six weeks, they mean six weeks pg...which means that you would have to wait another 10 days to 2 weeks...then call and tell them it's been six weeks since your last period. It makes sense cuz sometime your HCG level is too low for the EPT to pick up, by six weeks if you are, then the home test will probably read positive and the beta's will be pretty high when you go to the Dr.
Still sending you lot's of Baby Dust...you never know this might be it!

thank you, oh oh, is it too early for a blood test too? I just called and made a stink, lol to come in sooner, she had me down in 6 weeks- oct 6th to come in- so I dont know if she misunderstood him by 6 weeks pg or 6 weeks that Im late from AF,

But it is not too early to get a BhCG(the blood test), that can detect the tiniest amount of pregnancy hormone in your system. I think you were right to insist on the blood test!

PS- The receptionist in an OBGYN office should know better than to mix up the 6 week thing. had you not had us and if you are PG, that is just too long to wait. I would let your MD know when you see them

Thanks ,and yes I agree. On monday I am going to speak to him, b/c I feel waiting till oct 6- 6 weeks that Im "late"- to see me, after I explained my situation- (I can see if I got BFP's maybe but 7 days late and BFN's???)- is just way too long and if thats the kind of tx Im going to get then I will go elsewhere. He is a great doctor, this girl is new so I am hoping it was her error and NOT what the doctor truly wanted, but I will know monday night! thanks again.

My AF is "late" too- although I don't think i've O'd this cycle- so now I'm sort of in a "wait in see" pattern- I'm on day 41 of this cycle.
I am nervous b/c before I went on the pill this happened- I'd be regular a few months and then go 60-70 days without AF. Of course I was 18 then and I'm 30 now- so I can't really say if how I was b/f BCP is the same as now.
I feel your pain.

Are you temping now ? You can temp when you wake in the morning and see what your temps are ? That could help figure things out.

I havent done any temps , If I start tomorrow will I know something? are there specific temp's for certain things? thanks
