How often do you wear your "good clothes"?
Mainly I ask for sweaters. Once every few months? So a couple times a year? More? I just got a great Michael Kors sweater and I haven't worn it yet because it's one of my nicer sweaters. I just don't want to wear out my good clothes by wearing and washing too much.

I wear sweaters whenever I feel like it and get them dry cleaned. The problem is it takes me forever to go to the cleaners, so they just sit in the hamper a lot.

all sweaters? even ones that say machine wash? Does this help them last longer?

i wear whatever i want whenever i want
i got a cashmere one for christmas and i wore it on a 8 hour plane flight and slept in it on the plane
life is too short to not wear "good" things like jewelry, clothing shoes etc.

I agree....my mom is 52 and living with cancer (fortunately it is under control) but she looks back and she has jewelry boxes filled with good jewelry that she was saving because it was too "good" to wear...she laughs now and realized what the heck was she waiting for

Ah, so true! But I have very few clothes, and I'm trying to build a wardrobe rather than just keep buying "throwaway clothes". You know, stuff that you wear so much that it wears out in a year...

I tend not to wear my really good stuff to work because I work with kids and I can get a little messy. Otherwise, I'll wear whatever I want on the weekends or out!

My problem is that my work clothes are the same as my weekend clothes. I work at a university and it is very casual. So there is no distinction, and I wear my clothes a lot since I have only one set.

Well...my good sweaters are usually cashmere...so even though they say to hand wash cashmere I still get them dry cleaned. And I always wear a t-shirt under them so I can get a few wears before cleaning them.
I dry clean because I don't feel like hand washing gets things clean.

No I know exactly what you mean though.... I think over time you will find a compromise between never wearing and every day wearing
