TTC and dieting
AF is scheduled for tomorrow so it looks like I am out for this month. I have been putting off starting a diet thinking I would get pregnant. Silly of me I know!
I wanted to start a diet with a meal program like Nutrisystem or Jenny . I can't keep putting it off thinking I am going to get pregnant each month. I am still carrying around an extra 30 lbs from my last pregnancy.
Does anyone what happens if I start any of those programs and then get pregnant? Can I continue or could they put it on hold?
thanks

I thought those programs promote a healthy lifestyle? I would think it was OK as long as your getting all the nutrients you need, which I would think those diets provide.

I am not sure how it works with those programs. I think something like Weight Watchers might be easier to transition in when pregnant.

yes I would do WW. When I was PG my leader told me just to follow the nursing mothers plan. I think its a great healthy way to eat as long as you are getting your fruits, veggies and milks

Re: TTC and dieting
My doc said you shouldn't try to diet when TTCing. It could mess up your ovulation or stop it all together. He said to avoid significant changes is wieght.

I don't know about the two programs you mentioned, but Weight Watchers basically kicks you off/out of the program once you are pregnant.

i can see that, but i could also imagine it the other way - if you're carrying around extra weight from your last child that isn't normal for you, losing the weight might get your reproductive system back in gear... not really sure

Re: TTC and dieting
I think Weight Watchers would be your better bet because you can eat real food, nothing packaged.

I agree, but once you get pg, you cannot lose weight, the keytones your body secretes when you lose weight are not good for the baby. That's prob why they prob put the program on hold.
i would ask a leader at WW what they say about pg weight plan, i know they have a nursing mom plan. Maybe you can still go on some kind of plan where you gain healthy amount of weight and know what to eat, how much to eat during pg.
