napping

how long are your DC napping for? Their morning nap is the longest for 1-2 hours, however they won't go into their cribs. They will only sleep in their swing. Then the rest of the day they only sleep for 5-15 minutes, randomly. They will fall asleep in their exersaucer or on their gym all of the sudden. Any advice?Chat Icon

Same here with us! A long nap in the morning, then spurts throughout the day. I would love to know how to get them on a nap schedule! Chat Icon

Re: napping

I can't say that I've got a set schedule, but each day they get older, the less they fall asleep during the day. They used to have an extended period of sleep after breakfast. Now they are up until after lunch when they nap for 1 1/2-2 hours. When I go out, they immediately fall asleep so that throws a wrench into the "schedule." Chat Icon

Up until about 8 - 9 months they napped in their swings we were at my BIls for a weeka dn we decided to start them in their cribs and they did great and slept forever so we stuck with that. But the swings worked for us for a while, they would jsut get woken up by the dogs or if someone rang the doorbell.

The boys go down for a nap around 10ish (after their second bottle) in their cribs. They sleep anywhere from 1-2 hours and usually one is up way before the other one. I tried starting one in teh afternoons, but they wanted none of that. So they randomly nap throughout the late afternoon.

Re: napping

momoftwins gave me some great advice about getting them on a schedule and to nap in their cribs. she said keep them up until they are REALLY TIRED and then lay them down in their cribs. its been working out great for the past few days. I've only been doing it for the morning nap so far and i figure i'll tackle the afternoon nap in a few weeks. they've been going down for about a half hour, which isnt that long but i'm just so glad they are finally in their cribs.
