Kitchen Hi Ranch with pics
I am going to be redoing my kitchen. I have a wide line Hi ranch with the kitchen upstair and an L shape DR/LR. We are going to knock down the wall between the kitchen and DR( with the black oval frame) and will use the dining room to eat in. Our kitchen is longer than our DR so in the kitchen about three feet of wall will be left(from about the beginning of the rectangle picture) Will it look stupid to tile the kitchen through the dinning room and put an soft s shape to seperate the dining room and living room. Re: Kitchen Hi Ranch

Re: Kitchen Hi Ranch
I have a wideline hi-ranch too and would love to do this. But we would lose some counterspace and cabinet space. so we can't for now. Just not enough room in the kitchen.....

Re: Kitchen Hi Ranch
We are just starting to re do hour hi ranch litchen - we are putting a half wall to the DR so that we can have a eating peninsula in the kitchen and additional counterspace as well. WE are tiling the kitchen area and leaving the DR witht he wood florrs that go into the LR.
I am excited to get started.
Here are our designs.

Re: Kitchen Hi Ranch with pics
We have the exact same setup! Except we can't knock down the wall because we have cabinets on the kitchen side and would lose too much space.
But I think what you are doing would look perfect as you describe! Good Luck....
That's our kitchen to the right. Above the window cut out are cabinets! Arrgghhh. I would love to open it up like you are doing!

Re: Kitchen Hi Ranch with pics
My in-laws just re-did their kitchen, they also have a high ranch. I don't have pics but will be sure to take some the next time I go there and post them for you
