Spinoff Kitten Mills

Is there a way to tell if your cat came from a kitten mill?
I was young and uninformed when I got my oldest cat at a pet store in northern new jersey.

Its been 9 years now, and I've always wondered what type of place she came from. Is there any way I can research this?

I think that kitten mills are harder to find than puppy mills, but you could always try prisoners of greed or do a google search & look for articles.
